Rike Physical Education Center
This domed-roof facility encloses an intercollegiate wood basketball floor with seating for 3,100 spectators. In addition, curtains and space to segment two courts for volleyball or basketball. This facility also has a weight training room, fitness studio and wrestling room. The Rike Center was built in 1975 for $1.5 million and is named for the Rike family of Dayton, Ohio. David L. Rikeserved on the Otterbein College Board of Trustees from 1879-1895. His son, Frederick H. Rike, class of 1888 held the same position from 1906 to 1947. Susanne Rike MacDonald, class of 1890, taught music at Otterbein from 1894-1895.
